Plastic badges of an unusual shape

An ID badge does not have to be only simple and functional; it can also have a custom size, an original design, or even a fancy shape. Properly designed badges will blend in with the visual identification of your company, and the printed functional elements will improve its management.

Thanks to modern plastic cards printing technologies, badges can now be made in a variety of shapes and sizes beyond the traditional rectangular shape. Their non-standard shapes and sizes can make a badge unique and more recognizable, and they can also be used to reinforce an organization’s brand or have a shape appropriate to the theme of an event or the organization’s industry.

So the badges can be in the shape of a key ring, heart, square, circle, etc. Or they can have an enlarged size of A7 (74 x 105 mm), or A6 (105 x 148 mm).

Custom badges – essential elements

Non-standard badges can still have standard elements used in traditional badges, these can include:

• signature panel – a special panel that allows users to write down personal data on a card,
• holes – necessary to wear ID badges on lanyards or cords,
• personalized prints – personal data, numerical data, barcode or QR code printed on badges
• proximity module correctly matched to your access control system. The most frequently chosen modules are, for example, Unique EM 4100, Mifare Classic 1KB or Mifare Ultralight.
