Metallic glitter plastic business cards

Glitter business cards provide a unique effect of metallic particles sparkling in the light, making the business card highly unique.

Glitter paints, also known as metallic paints, are special printing inks containing metallic glitter particles. The metallic shades that appear on the card after using it allow for great color depth and illuminated visual effects.

Three main colors are used to produce plastic business cards with a metallic base: gold, silver and pearl.
Additionally, each color comes in two shades, which gives a total of six available color options. This allows you to select the appropriate metallic print to achieve the desired effect.

Glitter business cards – printing options

Prints with glitter paints can be made in two ways:
– as full background,
– and as selective printing.

As a full background
You can cover the entire surface of the business card with a metallic print, thus obtaining a gold, silver or pearl business card. However, you should remember that the white prints on such a business card should not clash with the metallic background. Light or white prints will look bad on a business card completely covered with glitter paint. In this case, the prints should be dark, or the glitter background can be “darkened” with a bit of additional color. The uniform metallic background is then maintained and at the same time the contrast with bright inscriptions is increased.

As a selective print
The logo, inscriptions, selected design elements, shimmering silver stars, gold ribbon, metallic geometric patterns… selective prints made with glitter will give the business card an extremely impressive look. The background of the business card will be printed using offset technique, while selected characters or patterns will be covered with metallic paint.

Lamination
At the final stage of production, plastic business cards are covered with laminate. It is necessary to ensure that business cards are more durable and resistant to damage. The laminate comes in two versions – glossy and matte. Gold, silver or pearl glitter prints look great under both glossy and matte lamination. However, you must remember that matte lamination slightly dims the metallic particles.

Preparing a glitter business card design

For glitter business cards, you will need two separate designs:
– PDF file with the general business card design for offset printing (CMYK colors, optionally Pantone),
– a second separate project, also a PDF file, only with elements to be made with a metallic print.
